The Baby Bistro & Boutique breastfeeding shop, on the Norton Healthcare – St. Matthews campus that includes Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital, offers:

  • Option to rent a hospital-grade breast pump
  • Breast pump pickup at no cost if covered by your insurance
  • Breast pumps and parts, breastfeeding bras, nursing pillows and other items that make life easier for breastfeeding moms
  • A certified lactation consultant available by appointment to answer questions and educate new moms on how to use breast-pumping equipment
  • Breastfeeding services, including individual counseling, breast milk analysis to determine fat and calorie content, and follow-up for infants having trouble gaining weight
  • Services for moms with special needs, such as feeding multiples, hearing impairment, vision impairment or needing language interpretation
  • Services for babies with special needs

Lactation Services at Baby Bistro & Boutique

  • Call (502) 899-6530 to schedule an appointment.
  • Arrive with your baby 15 minutes before your appointment.
  • Enter through the doors marked “Labor and Delivery” at Norton Medical Plaza 3 – St. Matthews.
  • Go to the first floor and follow the signs to the Baby Bistro & Boutique.
  • Enter and tell the clerk that you have an appointment for lactation services.
  • Baby Bistro & Boutique is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.

What to Bring

  • Breastfeeding pillow (hospital pillows are available)
  • Breast pump and breast pump kit
  • Bottles, nipples and pumped milk or formula (if supplementing)
  • Nipple shields or other lactation devices (if using)
  • Current log (at least within last 24 hours): number of breastfeedings, pumpings, wet and stool diapers; amount of supplement used and how often
  • List of questions or concerns
  • A hungry baby (If your baby gets too hungry, feed just enough to calm the baby.)
  • We will need to know:
    • If breastfeeding: when you last breastfed and how long your baby was at the breast
    • If giving formula or other supplement: what time you gave it and how much your baby took
