Emmy award-winning journalist Jackie Hays spent nearly 31 years in television news working for stations in Louisville and Philadelphia. She was a Louisville favorite, winning 17 Best of Louisville awards as well as other state and regional awards. In early 2011, she was voted into the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame. When she retired in December 2009, many predicted she wouldn’t stay “retired” for long.
“I loved writing stories and wanted to continue to do something that would make a difference in peoples’ lives,” Hays said.
That dream turned into reality when Jackie took a job for Norton Healthcare. She now writes and produces health-related stories for the Norton Healthcare website, sharing with visitors the cutting-edge technology that makes the health care system an award-winning place to work.
“There are incredible stories here about procedures that save lives,” Hays said. “It’s the kind of news that needs to be shared so people know where to turn when their health or the health of their loved ones is in jeopardy.”
Jackie and her husband, Paul, have two daughters, Katie and Claire. Jackie loves to ride her horse Chip, hunt with her bird dogs Brio and Lyric, and fuss with her small flock of backyard chickens.
