Norton Cancer Institute Council

 We Believe

Patient- and family-centered care seeks to fully combine professionals' knowledge of medicine with patients' knowledge of themselves. When caregivers act in partnership with patients and their families, it improves the overall patient experience through recognition of the vital role families play in ensuring health, well-being, dignity and personal control during times of illness and hospitalization.


Our primary goal is to be a voice for patients and families. We hope to accomplish this by:

  • Recognizing that patients and families are our greatest strength
  • Supporting open and honest communication between patients, families and medical personnel
  • Assisting in development and review of patient education materials
  • Looking for ways to improve the patient's experience within Norton Healthcare
