Oncology Spirit Fund

How you can help

Your contribution to the Oncology Spirit Fund serves as an expression of appreciation for the dedicated care provided by the oncology staff at Norton Healthcare, while also offering an outlet for stress relief and team building. In turn, oncology staff members approach patients with a more positive, fresh outlook and can continue to provide quality health care that the community has come to expect from Norton Cancer Institute.

Providing medical care and emotional comfort to oncology patients and their families is a special gift of caregivers at Norton Cancer Institute. To keep energy high and maintain a positive spirit among staff, the Governeur H. Nixon family established The Oncology Spirit Fund as a tribute to the nurses and staff who cared for the late Dotsie Nixon during cancer treatment at Norton Hospital.

The Oncology Spirit Fund provides a financial resource to support activities that promote positive morale for the oncology staff of Norton Healthcare. The fund may be used for rewards and recognitions, relaxation activities, educational programs and environmental enhancement. Past spirit boosters have included holiday parties and gifts, nursing books, staff lunches, gift certificates and expert talks on oncology-related subjects.
