Stereotactic Breast Biopsy

A breast biopsy, or removal of a small section of tissue with pinpoint accuracy, is a common procedure in early detection of breast cancers. The stereotactic breast biopsy procedure, which is simple and safe, is performed by our team of breast imaging specialists. Advanced computer imaging technology is used to map the precise location of the suspicious tissue as seen on the mammogram. The sample is sent to a pathologist, a physician specializing in the analysis of tissue samples under a microscope for diagnosis. The entire biopsy takes approximately one hour.
