Wellness in Your 30s
Men's bodies go through many changes during a lifetime. But it's never too soon or too late to pursue a healthy mind, body and spirit.
For a healthy you:
- Get at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day
- Eat a smart, well-balanced diet
- Get your cholesterol and blood glucose checked at least every 5 years
- Get your blood pressure checked every 2 years
- Have your thyroid tested starting at age 35, then every 5 years
- Get your vision and hearing checked based on your individual needs
- Visit the dentist twice a year for a routine cleaning and exam
- Get a diphtheria-tetanus vaccine every 10 years; substitute one 10-year dose with diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis once before age 65
- Do monthly skin self-exam to check for new moles/changes
- Get a skin cancer clinical exam annually

- Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Triglycerides: Identify people at high risk for coronary artery disease
- Every 5 years, or more often if lab resluts are abnormal
- Blood Pressure: Detect high blood pressure (120/80)

- Skin Cancer Clinical Exam: Detect and treat any skin changes in early stages
- Skin Cancer Self-Exam: Detect moles with irregular shape, color, or size
- General Physical Exam: Detect conditions before symptoms develop
- General Eye Exam: Detect hidden disease processes in the eyes or body
-Every 5 to 10 years
- Testicular Self-Exam: Detect testicular cancer, the most common malignancy in American men between ages 15 and 35
