Aneurysm

Title: Aneurysm Study of Pipeline In an Observational Registry (ASPIRe)

Sponsor: Covidien LP

Research Details: The purpose of this research study is to increase our knowledge in patients who had a brain aneurysm (a bulge in a blood vessel in your head) that required or will require a surgical procedure where a device called Pipeline™ Embolization Device (PED) is placed in the artery where the aneurysm occurred.


Title: New Generation Hydrogel Endovascular Aneurysm Treatment Trial

Sponsor: Northwestern University

Research Detail: The purpose of this research study is to compare the effectiveness of the HydroCoil Embolization System to the standard bare platinum coil in order to see which method is better at preventing future rupturing or leaking of aneurysms.


Stroke

Title: A randomized, concurrent controlled trial to assess the safety and effectiveness of the Separator 3D as a component of the Penumbra System in the revascularization of large vessel occlusion in acute ischemic stroke.

Research Details: The purpose of this study is to test the Penumbra System with use of its latest piece, The Separator 3D. The Penumbra System consists of three device components that remove a clot in the brain during a stroke.


Title: Platelet-Oriented Inhibition in New TIA and minor ischemic stroke (POINT) Trial, a randomized, double-blind, multicenter clinical trial

Sponsor: National Institutes of Neurological Disease and Stroke

Research Details: The purpose of this study is to learn whether clopidogrel and aspirin together are more effective than aspirin alone in preventing stroke, heart attacks, and other complications for patients who have had a TIA or a mild stroke.
