Norton Healthcare Scholars

Opportunities for tuition assistance and exciting careers at Norton Healthcare

Thinking about college? Need help with tuition? The Norton Healthcare Scholars Program will help cover your college expenses while you work toward a health care degree.

In partnership with public and private Kentucky and Southern Indiana colleges and universities, Norton Healthcare Scholars Program is a student loan program that provides educational funding to students interested in pursuing certain types of health care careers. In addition to tuition and eligible expense reimbursement, this innovative program creates work and mentoring opportunities in your chosen career field. Upon graduation, you begin your career with Norton Healthcare and your loan is eligible to be forgiven.

As a Norton Healthcare Scholar, you not only get help with college - you are also on the fast track to a great career with Norton Healthcare. As the largest health care system in Kentucky, we offer the choices and flexibility not found anywhere else. And our network of hospitals, Immediate Care Centers, and Physician Practices offer a complete spectrum of career opportunities, from newborns to elder care.

How It Works...

You go to school full-time, studying your chosen health care career field at a partnering college or university. Students must be accepted into their major at a college or university before applying to the Norton Healthcare Scholars Program.

As a Scholar, you may choose to work for a Norton Healthcare hospital or health care facility part-time or full-time, or choose to be a full-time student without working while you are in school. If you choose to work while enrolled in the Norton Healthcare Scholars Program, we prefer you to work for Norton Healthcare.

Your Tuition & Expenses...

The amount of funding is based on the program in which the student is enrolled. All participants are eligible for a minimum of $6,000 per year towards tuition and eligible expenses. The amount received per year is based on the cost of the program in which you are enrolled and the number of years you participate in the Norton Healthcare Scholars Program. The maximum amount of funding available from Norton Healthcare Scholars Program is $24,000.

Funds will be paid directly to your school to be placed into your account.

Your School...

The Norton Healthcare Scholars Program is a partnership with many public and private Kentucky and Southern Indiana colleges and universities. To take advantage of the program you must be accepted and enrolled in one of our partnering schools. Check the application for a complete list of participating institutions. Your commitment as a Norton Healthcare Scholar...

You agree to work one month of full-time employment for each $500 you receive in scholarship funds. ($500.00 x 12 months = $6,000.00 per year).
