A New Dimension in Imaging Technology
Louisville’s first 128-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner available at Norton Hospital

The latest imaging technology is revolutionizing diagnoses in neurology, oncology and many other specialties. The 128-slice CT scanner can scan the entire body in seconds and profile incredibly sharp 3-D images of any organ.

- Significantly faster, higher-quality imaging, resulting in crisper, more exact images
- Larger opening and weight capacity, improving patient comfort and screening ability
- 3-D imaging combined with advanced applications for the care of neurological and cancer patients, allowing for more precise diagnosis and treatment
- Lower-dose radiation and lower contrast usage requirements
In addition to the enhanced CT scanner, Norton Hospital also is installing a new 3 Tesla MRI that will be in operation by early April as well as a new 1.5 Tesla MRI that will be operational by the end of May.
