 $8 million gift will benefit Norton Neuroscience Institute and Norton Suburban Hospital
The Norton Healthcare Foundation has received an $8 million gift from retired Louisville physician Elizabeth Pahk Cressman, M.D. Ph.D., a significant gift that will serve as a catalyst for future giving. The gift was made in memory of her husband, Frederick K. Cressman, M.D., who died in January 2010 at age 77 after a seven-year battle  with Parkinson's disease. Five million dollars will establish the Cressman Parkinson's Center at Norton Neuroscience Institute, and $3 million will establish the Cressman Critical Care Center at Norton Suburban Hospital. In March 2009, longtime WHAS-11 news reporter Chuck Olmstead, died after an aneurysm ruptured in his brain. With tremendous support from the community, Candi Olmstead has established the Chuck Olmstead Memorial Fund through the Norton Healthcare Foundation to support screenings and education provided by Norton Neuroscience Institute. The screenings will help detect an aneurysm before it ruptures, and increase awareness around symptoms of a brain aneurysm that already has ruptured. Donate now to the Chuck Olmstead Memorial Fund.
