Unfortunately, the incidence of cancer in Kentucky is among the highest in the nation. At Norton Cancer Institute, our goal is to reduce the number of people diagnosed with cancer through prevention and early detection.
Our Prevention & Early Detection Program provides comprehensive cancer screenings, testing, assessments and follow-up to help determine a person’s risk for cancer. We also offer access to genetic counselors, who can help determine risks for various cancers based on family history.
Our Mobile Prevention Center provides community residents with convenient access to preventive health screenings and education. The first of its kind in the region, the Mobile Prevention Center travels throughout Metro Louisville offering testing, assessment and education services in convenient neighborhood locations.
Through genetic testing and cancer screenings, early detection may allow treatment to start before symptoms begin, which can greatly improve treatment outcomes and survival rates.
Cancer Screening Guidelines
Cancer screening requirements are based on guidelines provided by the American Cancer Society. To learn more about the recommended guidelines please see the Norton Cancer Institute Prevention & Early Detection screening guidelines for cancer prevention.
