School At Work Program
Helping you climb up the career ladder.
Many dream of bettering themselves professionally, but not everyone can find a way to make it happen. Now it's easier for Norton Healthcare employees to make continuing their educations a reality, thanks to the School At Work program.
School At Work is an 8-month program created in partnership with Jefferson Community College and Hospitality Television. It helps employees in nurse’s aide, food service, housekeeping, and environmental services positions review their skills in math, computer service, communications and customer service.
From there they can follow one of two career tracks: clinical/secretarial or health care professional/technical.
- Weekly classes are on various Norton Healthcare campuses
- Activities include viewing instructional television broadcasts and completing online course work
- Students are paid for class time if it occurs during their normal shift
- Each class has a coach who provides one-on-one assistance
