Pharmacist Practice

Pharmacy Services  at Norton Healthcare are provided in a progressive, decentralized environment where pharmacists contribute as valued members of the health care team.   Practice sites vary from adult and pediatric facilities, to inpatient and ambulatory care sites.

Pharmacists are directly involved in patient care, working closely with physicians and nurses to monitor medications and maximize effectiveness.   Our pharmacists provide clinical services such as clinical rounding, pharmacokinetic dosing, monitoring and writing TPN, pain management and, target drug programs.   Opportunities to specialize in select patient populations also are available.

All Norton Healthcare facilities have been updated or remodeled to meet USP 797 requirements and provide a professional work environment.

Standardization of order sets and a centralized pharmacy and therapeutics committee across the system have simplified prescribing medication and increased patient safety.
