Volunteer Opportunities at Norton Healthcare
Help us care for your community
Reaching out. Touching lives. Serving others. Sharing. Making the world a better place.
We all have hobbies. Some people like to garden. Others like to travel, read great books, or just relax and watch a good movie. Many people, however, choose to use their time and talents to serve others in the community. That's why more than 1,000 volunteers at Norton Healthcare's network of hospitals help make a positive difference in the lives of more than 1,000,000 patients annually. Sharing kindness and compassion through volunteering is a tradition at Norton Healthcare.
Who can volunteer?
Virtually anyone! If you are in good health and willing to work at least one four-hour shift per week, you are probably eligible to volunteer. We even have a program for teen volunteers age 13 and up. Whether you're retired, your kids are in school, or you are a student looking for something meaningful to do after school, learn about volunteer opportunities at Norton Healthcare.
Why should I volunteer?
There are many benefits associated with volunteering in a safe, caring environment – and not just for those being helped. Volunteering at a Norton Healthcare facility is a great learning experience and an excellent way to meet people and make new friends. Volunteering may help boost energy levels and self-esteem while reducing stress-related health problems. Norton Healthcare adult volunteers receive invitations to special employee events and educational programs, cafeteria meal coupons, free parking, a volunteer newsletter, free visits to the Fitness Center of Norton Healthcare, and an invitation to an annual volunteer recognition event. For our high school and college student volunteers, highlighting this experience on a college application or resume goes a long way with admissions counselors and prospective employers.
