The Norton Healthcare EMS Symposium is designed to provide first responders with updates on critical areas of importance and the latest in technologies and treatments for managing medical emergencies in patients of all ages. Discussion topics will include pre-hospital and transport treatments and hospital management of airway emergencies, chest pain, stroke and obstetrics.
The symposium will include a special hands-on workshop on opening difficult airways in the state-of-the-art bioskills lab located in the Norton Orthopaedic & Hand Center. This portion of the symposium is limited to the first 30 registrants.
7:30 a.m.: Registration
8 a.m.: Airway Emergencies and Management Techniques: Joseph J. Creely, M.D., otolaryngologist
9 a.m.: Emergency Management of Stroke and Intracranial Hemorrhage: Tom L. Yao, M.D., cerebrovascular/endovascular neurosurgeon
10 a.m.: Emergency Management of Chest Pain: Vipul R. Panchal, M.D., cardiologist
11 a.m.: Emergency and Unplanned Deliveries: Rita A. Fleming, M.D., OB/GYN
This symposium is free of charge, and continuing education credits are available. Continental breakfast will be served.
