Festival of Trees & Lights

The history and meaning behind this event

The festival is a huge indoor holiday affair with something special for all ages – both the young and young at heart! More than 300 trees and wreaths are carefully and creatively decorated for viewing and purchase. All are gorgeously decorated and many include marvelous gift items for raffle or silent auction. Do your holiday shopping early and find extraordinary gifts for those you love.

In addition to the holiday décor, the festival offers Children’s Activities, a Gift Shop, a Sweet Shop and special ticketed events such as the Snow Ball. With so much to do, your family is sure to have a magical experience at this year’s festival while sharing in the true joy of the giving season, as all proceeds from this event benefit Kosair Children’s Hospital through the Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Over the years, the festival’s official name has evolved into the Festival of Trees & Lights in recognition of our Jewish and African American communities. The Festival of Trees & Lights is one of the few festivals in the world to include Christian Heritage, Judaic customs and heritage and Kwanzaa, the African-American winter celebration. Learn about diverse cultures and cherish the differences that make us each unique. In collaboration with the Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Festival of Trees & Lights is organized primarily by volunteers.

There are many ways to become involved in the wonder of the season all year long through the Festival of Trees & Lights.

We hope you’ll join us this year!
