The Department of Pharmacy at Kosair Children’s employs 33 pharmacists and technicians, including a director of pharmacy, a clinical coordinator, eight clinical pharmacists, two pharmacy residents, six dispensing pharmacists, one inventory technician and 14 pharmacy technicians, as well as site-based pharmacy staffing in pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, hematology/oncology, infectious disease, and medical/surgical areas.
The Kosair Children’s Hospital pharmacy provides 24-hour services for patients, including, but not limited to, therapeutic drug monitoring/evaluation, parenteral nutrition, extensive involvement in research and collaboration on studies, pain consults, medication reconciliation consults and various clinical consults.
