To help in the diagnosis of liver cancer, Norton Cancer Institute physicians employ several detection techniques including:
- CT scans
- Biopsy Blood tests
The preferred treatment for patients with liver tumors is surgical removal, also called resection. Other options include:
- IntraOperative MRI
- Radio frequency ablation
- Microwave ablation
- Therasphere treatment
As part of our comprehensive services, Norton Cancer Institute also gives patients the opportunity to participate in innovative National Cancer Institute and industry-sponsored clinical research studies. Support and Ongoing Care
The Norton Cancer Institute Resource Centers offer a variety of support services that address the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of cancer patients and their loved ones. The center houses a library of educational resources about prevention and detection, treatment options and recovery.
Specially trained oncology nurses are available to provide one-on-one educational counseling for patients and family members.
