Coming in 2009
The new 127-bed hospital, opening in late 2009, will be adjacent to Norton Medical Plaza and will offer a wide range of inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, orthopaedic, cardiovascular and intensive care services, as well as:
- Spacious, all-private patient rooms, each with large windows, a small refrigerator and a pull-out couch
- Easy-to-find inpatient and outpatient services
- Ground-floor parking
- 24-hour emergency department
- Wireless Internet throughout the hospital
- Full digital imaging systems and completely electronic clinical charts
Norton Brownsboro Hospital is being designed for maximum ease of use and efficiency for patients and medical staff. The hospital’s open, airy design will feature abundant light and views of nature, promoting a healing environment for patients. In fact, Norton Brownsboro Hospital will follow the Green Guide for Health Care, the health care industry’s best practices tool kit that integrates enhanced environmental and health principles into the planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance of new hospitals. Norton Brownsboro will be the first new hospital built in Louisville in nearly 30 years.
