A Message from Douglas J. Eighmey Jr., president, Kosair Children’s Hospital:
It has been my pleasure to have served as president of Kosair Children’s Hospital over the past 19 years. As Russ Cox informed you yesterday, I plan to retire at the end of this year after participating in the process to select a new hospital president and ensuring a smooth transition to our new leader.
I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who has contributed to the success and growth of Kosair Children’s Hospital during and before my tenure as president. I continue to be amazed at the medical miracles that occur every single day in our hospital, and these are possible only because of the tremendous dedication and commitment of everyone involved with Kosair Children’s Hospital. I have never been more confident or optimistic about the future of our hospital as we embark on a new era of unprecedented growth to better serve children and their families in our region.
And thanks for the support you have given me during my tenure. Kosair Children’s Hospital is a wonderful place to work, and has provided me with opportunities that certainly would not have been available elsewhere. I feel lucky to have been part of the management team at Norton Healthcare and Kosair Children’s Hospital, and I must say that in my estimation, it is one of the finest working teams that I have ever been associated with.
My wife, Karen, and I have made so many friends during our time in Louisville, and we are looking forward to the new opportunities presented by my retirement. However, we will always remain friends and supporters of Kosair Children’s Hospital.
Thank you in advance for your ongoing support of Kosair Children’s Hospital.
