Food and Nutrition
Patients receive three meals per day from our meal cart, the Munch Mobile. No menu selections are made in advance. Patients choose items from the Munch Mobile when it arrives on the unit. Patients on a special diet will be offered appropriate menu choices. Nutrition Services staff can assist with selections as needed.
In addition, each unit has a kitchen stocked with baby formula, baby food, juices, cereals, crackers, popcycles, ice cream and coffee, for patient and parent use. Kitchens contain microwaves for parent convenience.
Please check with your child’s nurse before giving your child anything such as snacks, candy or gum. A treat could interfere with tests or medical care.
If your child is on a special diet, the appropriate menu will be offered for selection. Nutrition Services staff can assist with selections as needed.
Guest trays are available for purchase. Check with your child’s nurse for more information.
On-Campus Food Service

The Norton Hospital Cafeteria is located on the first floor of Norton Hospital. It is open every day from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. You can reach the cafeteria by walking across the second floor pedway from Kosair Children's Hospital to Norton Healthcare and take the elevators or escalators to the first floor.

McDonald’s is located on the first floor of Kosair Children’s Hospital. It is open 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays.

The Norton Healthcare Pavilion Cafeteria is located on the first floor of the Pavilion, with a side entry from Floyd Street. It is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Munch Mobile -- We also offer the Munch Mobile -- a meal wagon that lets kids chose their own food.

Vending Area
Vending machines are located in the dining area, the ground floor and floors 4 and 5. Ice and a microwave are available on each unit.
Gift Shop
The gift shop is located on the first floor of Kosair Children's Hospital. Toys, cards, candy, balloons, books and other items are available.

1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Visiting Hours
In most areas of the hospital, parents or guardians have unlimited visiting hours. Siblings may visit if accompanied by and adult. Sibling visits are limited to the patient’s room or other designated visitation areas. The patient’s nurse will check to see that the sibling does not have a history of recent exposure to a contagious disease.

Registration
Outpatient and Orthopedic Clinic Registration services are located on the ground floor of Kosair Children’s Hospital next to the Emergency Department.
Take the garage elevator to the ground floor, turn right as you exit the elevator, and proceed to Outpatient Registration. Sign in at the desk on your right.
From inside the hospital, take the public elevators to the ground floor. In the main hall, turn right. At the end of the hall, turn left. Go through the double doors at the end of the hall and turn left again. Sign in at the desk on your left.
Outpatient Surgery Registration is located on the eighth floor of Kosair Children’s Hospital. From the parking garage, follow the signs to the hospital. After entering the hospital, follow the signs to the public elevators. Take the elevators to the eighth floor. Exit and take a left at the hallway. Registration is located through the double doors on the right. Look for the sign Family Waiting and PAT Registration.
All other pediatric clinics and registration services for these clinics are located in Medical Towers North, 233 E. Gray St., Suite 810.
