Norton Suburban Hospital
A group of local physicians with a vision were responsible for the creation of Suburban. In 1972, at a time when eastern Jefferson County was nothing but farmland, Suburban Hospital opened. Today, under the not-for-profit ownership of Norton Healthcare, the medical staff at Norton Suburban boasts more than 1,200 physicians.
Norton Suburban Hospital is a full-service, 343-bed community hospital offering inpatient and outpatient medical/surgical care and full diagnostic services in a convenient eastern Jefferson County location. Specialized care includes cancer prevention and detection, orthopaedic and bariatric services; a Wound Treatment and Hyperbaric Center; and 24-hour emergency services. Norton Suburban also is home to Norton Women’s Pavilion, offering general and high-risk obstetric and gynecologic care, a level III neonatal intensive care nursery and Norton Women’s Heart Center.
