Norton Women's and Kosair Children's Hospital

Construction plans are complete and Norton Healthcare will soon begin converting Norton Suburban Hospital into Norton Women’s and Kosair Children’s Hospital. The redesigned hospital will provide innovative care dedicated to the unique needs of women and children. The facility will continue to offer emergency, inpatient and outpatient care to men.

With completion expected in fall 2014, the new hospital will feature:

  • Dedicated pediatric emergency room, staff and facilities to care for the unique needs of children and adolescents
  • A bone health program
  • A one-step breast health center
  • Renovated operating rooms, including two new adult operating rooms and a new outpatient Pediatric Surgery Center with four pediatric operating suites
  • A new 16-bed Cressman Critical Care Center for adults
  • Dedicated inpatient beds for migraine treatment
  • A Center of Excellence for minimally invasive gynecologic surgery
  • A new inpatient cancer unit
  • A redesigned 40-bed neonatal intensive care unit
  • A new 14-bed pediatric inpatient unit
  • Diagnostic imaging and testing for children
  • Child life and expressive therapy program for the entire family
  • A redesigned public concourse for easier access to food, retail, pastoral care and outpatient services
  • All private patient rooms

The new focus and hospital renovation will enable the specialists of Norton Healthcare and Kosair Children's Hospital to provide the highest level of quality patient care in a state-of-the-art facility that promotes a sense of healing in a family-centered environment.
