Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) Patient Story

After experiencing a seizure, a 17-year-old girl’s MRI results showed a large arteriovenous malformation (AVM) on the left frontal lobe. Norton Neuroscience Institute neurosurgeons stopped the bleeding and surgically removed the majority of the blood vessels.

Removal process:

  • MRI of the brain shows a giant left frontal AVM (arrow)

AVM embolized and then surgically removed for a cure

Angiogram shows giant AVM AVM completely filled with surgical glue
Angiogram shows cure after surgical removal
