Roneka Ravenell, M.D.,  specializes in caring for patients with lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis and the management of these diseases during pregnancy. She earned her medical degree from Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, where she also completed her residency training in internal medicine. In 2009, Dr. Ravenell completed a fellowship in rheumatology from the Medical University of South Carolina Medical Center.

In addition to offering a full range of rheumatology services for adults, Dr. Ravenell treats osteoarthritis, including corticosteroid and other injections for therapy. She also offers infusion therapy for the treatment of a vast array of rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and vasculitides.

Dr. Ravenell’s treatment approach includes a detailed initial evaluation, review of medical records from the referring physician, laboratory testing and imaging as indicated. She then develops a comprehensive plan to treat the underlying disease and to improve symptoms and quality of life.

Dr. Ravenell’s mission is to provide top-quality, patient-centered care. Specifically, her goal is to recognize diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and lupus early and treat them aggressively to better improve outcomes. She is actively involved in the American College of Rheumatology and the Arthritis Foundation.

Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Ravenell enjoys spending time with her husband, Shawn Price, M.D., family and dog; traveling; playing tennis; and enjoying fine arts.
