Gregory W. Roution, R.N., MSN, SANE
Gregory W. Roution, R.N., MSN, SANE, is system nurse educator with the Norton Healthcare Institute for Nursing. He joined the institute in May 2012 as coordinator for the American Heart Association program and to build the organization's sexual assault/domestic violence program. Roution has worked as a sexual assault nurse examiner since 1999.
Roution joined Norton Healthcare in 1996 as a medical technician at Norton Community Medical Associates – Clarksville. In 1999, he moved to the pediatric intensive care unit at Kosair Children's Hospital, where he served for 11 years as a staff nurse, relief charge nurse and night shift educator. He then served three years as an educator in the Kosair Children's Hospital emergency department.
Roution earned his associate degree in nursing at Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana. He then earned his bachelor's degree in nursing and his master's degree in nursing education at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind. Roution has been an instructor for basic life support and pediatric advanced life support for seven years.
He served 21 years in the U.S. Army, including overseas and as the first sergeant of a mobile army surgical hospital and forward battalion aid station.
