Dancers at the ULDM stayed on their feet
for 24 hours in support of Kosair Children's hospital.

U of L students, athletes, faculty and friends held the third ULDM April 4 to 5, 2008. Students obtained pledges to stay on their feet for 24 hours, dancing and doing other activities. The ULDM raised $27,000 from cash and in-kind donations to support Kosair Children's Hospital through the Children's Hospital Foundation.

Scheduled for April 4:
- 6 p.m., ULDM begins; speaker: Lauren Blakemore – U of L nursing student and pediatric cancer survivor who received treatment at Kosair Children’s Hospital
- 7:25 p.m., hip-hop instruction, line dancing
- 10 p.m., step dancing

Scheduled for April 5:
- 9 a.m., Asian, Indian, renaissance dance
- 9:30 a.m., salsa dancing
- 10:30 a.m., African dance show
- 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Community hours – special activities planned
- 11:30 a.m., bracelet making for “Beading to Beat Autism” project started by 11-year-old Michala Riggle
- 12:30 p.m., Special check presentation by Chili’s Grill & Bar, also providing lunch to dancers and first 100 community hour guests
- 1 p.m., local dance team performances
- 1:30 p.m., Zumba (high-energy aerobics), kickboxing, line dancing
- 2:45 p.m., U of L Athletics hour
- 6 p.m., Grand finale

Why did they get involved?
Because of kids like Ian Brohman (top right). Ian was born with with spina bifida and underwent surgery the day he was born. He received his specialized care at Kosair Children's Hospital, and today, his future is bright.
Because of kids like Claire Glotzbach (left), who was so small her father's wedding band fit around her ankle. She spent several months at Kosair Children's Hospital.
Because of kids like Kinnley and Kaetlyn Higgins (right), who were born early and spent several months in the NICU at Kosair Children's Hospital.
