Champions for Kids
Fuzzy Zoeller
In late 2005, professional golfer Fuzzy Zoeller became the first Children's Hospital Foundation Champion for Kids.
"As the first Champion for Kids, Fuzzy is committed to the health and well-being of the community's children," said Lynnie Meyer, R.N., M.S.N., vice president and executive director of the Children's Hospital Foundation. "His support allows the foundation to increase awareness about the need for philanthropy at Kosair Children's Hospital while providing much needed funding for the hospital's radiology department."
As the first member of Champions for Kids, Fuzzy Zoeller not only commits to the Children's Hospital Foundation financially, but he connects to the cause as well.
"Kosair Children's Hospital is a hugely important piece of our Kentuckiana region," Zoeller said. "It's the only freestanding, full-service hospital that specializes in kids and kids only."
"I love visiting the hospital during our annual charity event 'The Kraft Foods Wolf Challenge'. Now being a Champion for Kids allows me to support the young patients at Kosair Children's Hospital by raising the region's awareness of the ways we can all help this great facility."
Zoeller has supported children throughout Louisville and Southern Indiana in past years through his celebrity golf tournament and plans to continue his tradition of giving back to his hometown region by personally contributing to Kosair Children's Hospital, which cares for more than 120,000 children across Southern Indiana and Kentucky each year.
