Consoling Parents Support

A miscarriage, a stillbirth, a newborn death--such a sudden, unexpected event can be a heartbreaking experience for parents.

A new wave of grief can be triggered by common things in life--the sight of a pregnant woman; watching television; a birth announcement arriving in the mail; the sound of a baby crying. As one father expressed it, "You're always just a split second away from a reminder of your loss."

We Can Help

Consoling Parents support group began in 1979 by the Norton Hospital Pastoral Care Department and is a support group for parents who have lost a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or early newborn death. You can share your feelings confidentially or you can just listen to others.  The group of parents meets twice a month to hear, understand, accept and guide each other through the aftermath of loss.  You can visit www.consolingparents.org for more information.
