Integrative Health and Wellness Symposium
Thursday May 22, 2014
It has been estimated that nearly 40 percent of Americans use some form of complementary medicine to treat specific conditions or for their overall well-being. Additionally, there has been a paradigm shift of optimizing health rather than just managing disease, where the whole-person is being treated not just the symptoms. To address this shifting paradigm in the delivery of health care, Norton Healthcare is hosting a one-day symposium on integrative health and wellness. This program will provide both didactic and experiential sessions on a variety of topics and modalities employed in holistic and integrative therapies with the goal of creating a community of health care members that employ integrative therapies in their professional and personal lives.
After attending this symposium, attendees will be able to:
- Assess appropriate holistic modalities used in patient care to improve outcomes.
- Discuss evidence-based research related to integrative medicine.
- Demonstrate self-care and employee wellness activities to avoid burnout.
- Identify behaviors that empower health care providers to utilize integrative therapies in their personal and professional lives.
Continuing education credits will be offered.
Space is limited, early registration is encouraged.
