During this multidisciplinary conference, the patient is able to have all pre-treatment consultation at one time, thus saving time and worry. After undergoing surgical treatment, the patient is presented a second time at another multidisciplinary conference where specialists review final pathologies and discuss further treatment options.
Physicians with the Center for Advanced Surgical Technologies - a partnership among Norton Hospital, the University of Louisville department of surgery and Norton Cancer Institute - are actively involved in the National Cancer Institute's protocols and other nationally recognized breast cancer research and clinical trials, including chemoprevention, combination therapy and genetic predisposition.
