Expanded access to occupational medicine and employer health resources
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 1, 2014) – Norton Healthcare today announced that Occupational Medicine Physicians has become part of the Norton Healthcare network. The acquisition of these services is an important step in Norton Healthcare’s mission to expand occupational medicine expertise and employer health resources in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Occupational Medicine Physicians (OMP) consists of two clinics in Southern Indiana, under the medical direction of Dennis McClain, M.D.
The practice has offered the Southern Indiana community more than 20 years of occupational health and other employer health resources. As occupational medicine has grown over those years, OMP has sustained and expanded its dedication to total workforce health management. By customizing programs for each client organization, OMP is able to minimize risk of injury and illness for employees while also providing medical resources when injuries have already occurred. With locations in New Albany and Clarksville, OMP is the premier full-service provider of occupational health for eight counties in Southern Indiana.
“Our years of collective experience allow us to make the difference for many companies,” said Dennis McClain, M.D., Medical Director.
“We look forward to becoming a part of Norton Healthcare and bringing our expertise to a larger population. Our goal is to expand our reach and experience to employers in Louisville and the surrounding areas and help companies keep their employees healthy, safe and productive. As we move forward in this new era of health care, better coordination of prevention, primary care, and disease management will be critical in maintaining cost.
As OMP becomes a part of the Norton Healthcare continuum, more employers in our region will gain assistance in optimizing their workforce health.
“Norton Healthcare is excited to welcome the team from Occupational Medicine Physicians,” said Michael Esposito, vice president, Business Development, and executive director, Service Line Operations, Norton Healthcare. “As a system of more than 12,000 employees, we understand the importance of keeping workers healthy and will continue to expand our services to make sure our local companies are able to do the same.”
