For the second year in a row, Norton Healthcare has been identified as one of the companies liked best by female workers in Forbes’ second annual ranking of America’s Best Employers for Women. This recognition reflects Norton Healthcare’s efforts to support our female workforce, including a women’s employee resource group (ERG) and a variety of initiatives designed to support women on their leadership journey. We also reach out to women in the community by providing support for free mammography screenings in underserved areas, the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women initiative and our popular Go Confidently speaker series.

“This type of community support resonates with the women who work at Norton Healthcare. Women comprise 83% of the Norton Healthcare workforce. We are intentional about how we support women, as well as a variety of other diverse employee groups,” said Gladys Lopez, senior vice president and chief human resources officer. “Our employee resource group is one way we support women. We also have groups for veterans, African Americans, our LGBTQ employees and young professionals. Inclusion is very important to the organization, and that is why we believe we are the best place to receive care and the best place to provide care.”
The Forbes list was compiled after a survey of more than 60,000 U.S. employees in companies of 1,000 people or more. Of the employees surveyed from a variety of industry sectors, 40,000 were women. Norton Healthcare also made Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers By State for 2018 and 2019.
